12 September - New Archdiocese of Cardiff-Menevia announced
Archbishop O'Toole has announced today the creation of the new merged Archdiocese of Cardiff-Menevia, a decision promulgated by Pope Francis on 12th September, coinciding with the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary. The announcement, to be read in churches across the region on the weekend of 14th-15th September, marks a significant if sad milestone for the Catholic community in South Wales and Herefordshire.

Sisters of St Joseph, as part of their apostolate of Faith formation, Light of Truth.
The Light of Truth Certificate in Catechesis prepares you for these essential roles: catechetical work in your parish, school, or diocese; understanding and communicating the Catholic Faith to adults, youth, and children in face of cultural challenges; and teaching, witnessing to, and accompanying others in their journey of faith.

12 July - Our Lady of Walsingham raised to the rank of Feast
The Vatican has granted permission for Our Lady of Walsingham to be celebrated as a new Feast in the dioceses of England (including Herefordshire), starting this year on 24 September. The Feast will not be in the National Calendar for Wales since the National Marian Shrine in Wales is Our Lady of Taper.

12 July - Update on proposed merger of Archdiocese of Cardiff and Diocese of Menevia
Archbishop O'Toole writes: "I have now submitted several copies of the dossier to the Nuncio for him to relay to the Holy See. Apart from personal letters to me, we will release the full dossier in September. I want to leave a few months to ensure that this has arrived with the Holy Father, before doing so, which I am sure you understand. However, I do share with you, the summary statistics on the straw polling that was taken about unification, together with a synopsis of the themes that emerged through the ‘conversations in the Spirit’ with clergy, religious and lay faithful."

3 July - Archbishop seeks £80,000 to beautify cathedral
Archbishop O'Toole has launched a campaign to beatify Cardiff Cathedral. The project includes plans for a new suspended rood crucifix for the Sanctuary Arch and statues of Our Lady and St Joseph with accompanying stands for the side niches. All items will be hand-carved from wood to restore a sense of completion to the Sanctuary.

The Parish Advisory Group are arranging a Summer Cheese & Wine Evening to take place in the Parish Room (Hall) on Saturday 22 June at 6.00pm after the 5.00pm Mass.
All are welcome.
Wed 24 April - CBCEW Pastoral Reflection on Gender
The Catholic Bishops of England and Wales have issued a pastoral reflection on gender entitled Intricately Woven by the Lord. The document emphasises that, whilst all are welcome in the Church, the sexual identity of an individual is not a purely “cultural or social construction”.

Thu 7 March - 5:00 p.m. - Diocesan Merger Open Listening Session - Belmont Abbey
Archbishop O’Toole will celebrate a Station Mass at Belmont Abbey, followed by an Open Listening Session to discuss the proposed merger of the Archdiocese of Cardiff and the Diocese of Menevia. The listening session will comprise:
- Time of adoration (~30 mins)
- Presentation from Archbishop Mark on plans for possible unification of the Dioceses
- Small group discussion, based on 3 questions
- Feedback & Questions
- Station Mass
- Light refreshments

Fri 16 February 2024 - Marathon of Prayer at St Francis Xavier's, Hereford
Shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine the Belmont group of the Walsingham Association organised at Belmont Abbey a 12 hour marathon of praying the Rosary for peace. Since then a small group has met regularly continuing to pray for peace.
Now with conflicts spreading throughout the world another 12 hour marathon of prayer will take place from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. on Friday 16 February at St. Francis Xavier's Church in Hereford. All are welcome to join us. If you live too far away, please join us in prayer during this time. Thank you.
Sun 16 December 2023 - Proposal to merge Archdiocese of Cardiff & Diocese of Menevia
Mark O’Toole, Archbishop of Cardiff and Bishop of Menevia, encourages the faithful to consider the possibility of uniting the Archdiocese of Cardiff and the Diocese of Menevia into one Diocese, aiming to enhance the mission and outreach of the Church. Thu 14 December 2023 - New Digital Organ Installed
Ten days on — and with Fr Adrian’s enthusiastic approval — the replacement organ was transported from Malvern to Ledbury and installed on Thursday afternoon in good time for Gaudete Sunday and for Christmas!
The old organ has already been found a home as a home practice instrument for another parishioner.

Join us in the Parish Room to help prepare the parish Advent altar wreath, make your own Advent candle table wreath, and/or just come along for some refreshments and a chat.
Drop in to the parish room any time from 2:30 p.m. Father Adrian will bless the wreaths at the 5:00 p.m. Mass.
If you’d like to make a table wreath, please either let Judith know or sign up on the sheet on the narthex notice board. Suggested donation of £5 per wreath on the day.

Join the Ledbury and Belmont Abbey Walsingham Group in Belmont Abbey Church for Rosary at 11:45, Mass 12:00, and Monastic Midday Prayer at 12:45.
Bring a packed lunch and join us afterwards in the Parish Room; tea and coffee will be provided. Do come along if you have been to Walsingham, if you would like to go, or if you are just interested. September - Website update - Monthly Saints & Celebrations
A new feature of our parish website is a page containing monthly summaries of seasonal saints’ feast days and other celebrations in a format that is suitable for children and adults of all ages. The summaries are produced by Carol Ann Harnett of St Joseph’s, Malvern and reproduced on our website with permission.

The annual Torchlight Rosary Procession in honour of Our Lady at Belmont Abbey, beginning at 9:00 p.m., will be led this year on Wednesday May 10th by Archbishop Mark O’Toole. Refreshments are available from Hedley Lodge at the Abbey from 6:00 p.m.

A talk by Samuel Baker, Director of Operations at the Catholic National Shrine & Basilica of Our Lady at Walsingham and Founder of CatholicMan UK & Ireland at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday 1 February in the Parish Room. Refreshments available. Walsingham merchandise will be available for purchase, cash or cheque only. Preceded by Medjugorje Rosary Prayer Group at 2:30 p.m.
Tue 20 December - Parish Carol Service
There will be a Parish Carol Service at Most Holy Trinity, Ledbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday 20 December. Carols to include O little town of Bethlehem, Angels from the realms of glory, Away in a manger, and Hark the herald angel.
Followed by refreshments in the Parish room.

There will be an Advent Pot Luck Day in the Parish Room from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday 17 December.

December - Catholic Truth Society - New titles available
There are some new titles available on the Catholic Truth Society (CTS) book stand at the back of the church, including some Polish Simple Prayer Books which include the Order of Mass.
